Submitted to nonprofit Wisdom Publication, but declined, their assessment of this manuscript is worth considering: “Thank you again for your interest in publishing with Wisdom. There really is a lot of rich Dharma material in the samples you sent, and we all enjoyed reading them. … Nonetheless, it is quite clear to all of us that you have a great deal to offer, and your book has real merit. We do wish you every success ...”The transmission of Dependent Origination (Pratitya-samutpada) contained in the essays of this manuscript are from cognitive-consciousness. The author is a pratyekabuddha, a source of teachings on Pratitya-Samutpada you have not yet encountered in your life until here and now, teachings which are radically different from and revolutionary in comparison to those offered by sravakas, vajrasattvas, or bodhisattvas in both public and private settings. The prior three volumes have been published so you can understand the information transmitted to you in this manuscript. It is unlikely you will be able to receive this transmission without direct knowledge of the contents of the preceding three volumes in this series. The nature of the contents of this transmission are radical and revolutionary in that they are beyond the current sangha narratives and meta-narratives. The preceding three volumes compensate for that market deficiency. The two path factors in the prajna (intelligence and wisdom) division, and the three path factors in the sila (moral discipline and ethics) division work together to evolve your perceptual-consciousness into cognitive-consciousness. Your whole-hearted conscious effort (viriya) works to make your cognitive-consciousness superior, and in harmony with your samadhi, your single-minded concentrated internal attention (manasikara) and introspection (sanna), they work together to evolve your cognitive-conscious into celestial-consciousness. Sati (mindfulness; whole-hearted single-mindedness) is your means to cultivate your celestial-consciousness, of your rebirth in the four form and the four formless jhana (dhyanas)[1] pure lands. The function of Pratitya-Samutpada is to purify your consciousness, especially the pravrtti, mula, manas, alaya portions of consciousness. These portions of consciousness are directly experienced in the four formless jhanas. But when practicing Pratitya-samutpada you purify those same portions of your consciousness while you abide in cognitive-consciousness, not while in celestial-consciousness.If you are familiar with the legend of the night Siddhartha Gautama transformed into a tathagata, you may know he practiced Pratitya-Samutpada immediately prior to entering meditation that evening. It is auspicious you have this manuscript in your possession here and now. May you, like Siddhartha Gautama transform into a tathagata during your lifespan.[1] See the ‘Celestial Realm’ essay in the Pure Land Remix Volume 3 Meditation manuscript. Read more
