Whether you are a seasoned Bonsai collector or a beginner, this one may just be your new favorite Bonsai plant. Plectranthus Ernstii Caudex, Bonsai Mint is native to South Africa and relatively new to most growers, but it has recently become very popular. The large succulent "trunk" and stems or "branches" start out grayish, but they will turn brown over time. Small, fuzzy, spice-scented green leaves top the stems. From early summer to mid-fall, lavender-white or lavender-blue flowers will grow on small spikes.

Rooting is usually quite rapid for this "Spurflower".
